Create a ISO 9001 CAPA view for the action list in SharePoint QMS

Despite using the process approach and risk-based thinking, CAPA remains prevalent. Learn how to create a CAPA view for the action list in SharePoint QMS.

CAPA (Corrective Actions and Preventive Actions) remains a key term in quality management systems. Since the ISO 9001:2015 revision, preventive actions are developed from risks identified during the planning phase of your QMS through risk-based thinking. Conversely, a corrective action arises from non-conformity or an opportunity for improvement (prevention is an opportunity to reduce risks). For those who prefer to continue using the term CAPA, it is possible to create the following view in Microsoft List or the corresponding SharePoint list.

Create CAPA view for Actions list

Take these five simple steps to create a new view in your SharePoint
quality management system that filters for Corrective Actions and Preventive Actions.

Step 1 – Show Filters pane

Above the column header, to the right of the center click on Filter

Step 2 – Filter the Actions list

On the right-hand side, for Filters below the Categories, select Correction and Prevent

Step 3 – Save view as

Above the column header, to the right click on All Items*, and then on Save view as

Step 4 – Save new view

Under Save current view or type a new name, type CAPA

Make sure that the check box Make this a public view is selected and click on Save

Step 5 – Close Filters pane

On the right-hand side, for Filters click Close the filters pane
